  10. Did you know that Children's Day is the second Sunday in June?  Or
  11. that November is Aviation History Month?  How about that Willard Scott
  12. (NBC's "birthday boy") was born on March 7th, 1934?  Confuscious was
  13. born August 27th, 551 BC? On This Day for Windows can tell you all
  14. this and more.

  16. On This Day for Windows is a collection of databases with an
  17. easy-to-use Microsoft Windows access program.  The user selects the
  18. date in which he or she is interested.  On This Day for Windows then
  19. reads a group of databases, sending the output to either a window or a
  20. disk file.

  22. Since the databases are simply text files and their format is
  23. completely documented, you can make changes and additions using your
  24. favorite text editor or word processor.  On This Day for Windows will
  25. read an extra file if it exists so you can enter all your own personal
  26. events into a separate file or mix them with the other data in the
  27. provided files.

  29. On This Day for Windows can handle dates in the Gregorian, Hebrew,
  30. Islamic, and Julian calendars.  This makes it possible to specify
  31. Jewish and Islamic holidays as well as the ones corresponding to the
  32. calendar most of us use every day.

  34. On This Day for Windows can determine a day of the week on which the
  35. date requested falls.  This enables the user to specify holidays like
  36. Memorial Day (last Monday in May).

  38. On This Day for Windows calculates the date for Easter in the year
  39. requested, allowing the specification of all the Christian holidays.

  41. On This Day for Windows calculates the phases of the moon, solstices
  42. and equinoxes, and flags lunar eclipses.

  44. Probably best of all, On This Day for Windows comes with a collection
  45. of data ready to use with the program.  Some small sample databases
  46. are included in the evalutation copy of On This Day.  HUGE databases
  47. (more than 15,000 events) will be provided upon registration along
  48. with the latest version of the program and a collection of utilities
  49. we've found useful.
